ABC10 Hires Multi-Skilled Journalist Gurajpal Sangha to Join Award-Winning News Team

ABC10, a TEGNA-owned media station, has hired multi-skilled journalist Gurajpal Sangha to join the station’s award-winning news team. The announcement was made by ABC10’s President & General Manager Risa Omega, and Sangha’s first day is Monday, June 5.

With approximately 10 years of experience in journalism working in a variety of local newsrooms and also as a foreign correspondent, Sangha joins ABC10 most recently from FOX40 in Sacramento, where he worked as a general assignment reporter. Prior to that, a few of the media outlets he worked for include the following: KOLO (ABC) in Reno, Nevada, as a multimedia journalist, NBC North Dakota News as a news journalist, and TUSK Magazine in Orange County, California, as a multimedia director. In addition, in 2014, Sangha was hand-selected as one of 12 journalists to travel to Guatemala and work as a foreign correspondent for Project Guatemala to cover living conditions, the health care system and the cultural trends of the country.

Born in India, Sangha grew up in Northern California after his family moved to Woodland in late 1999. Sangha, who speaks English, Punjabi, and Hindi fluently, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Fullerton.

“We’re very excited to that Gurajpal is joining our award-winning news team,” said ABC10’s President & General Manager Risa Omega. “With his varied experience and commitment to storytelling, he is a perfect fit to the ABC10 newsroom that is filled with dedicated journalists who bring a range of diverse voices to our daily news reporting and our in-depth special projects coverage.”
